PHOTO DIARY: THE GREAT OCEAN ROAD

Four national parks, six full days and roughly ten layers of clothes.  What a trip, and a busy one of that.  About a month ago my boyfriend and I decided to head down South, hire a car and explore the iconic Great Ocean Road... IN WINTER.  Definitely not one of our brightest ideas, but nonetheless, it was totally worth it!

The Great Ocean Road is easily driven in a couple of days, but we were lucky enough to spend a week road tripping, sight seeing and photo taking.  Our first real adventure started with the Grampians National Park, and although it was a little further out, it was definitely worth the visit.  It's the place to go for crazy rock hanging spots and incredible lookouts.

We then dropped down to Warnambool, a little coastal town at the western end of the Great Ocean Road.  I didn't realise that this meant we had to make our way through single lane dirt roads for two hours with no signal.  Oh, and let's not forget we had an almost empty petrol tank.  It definitely felt like a Wolf Creek moment if you know what I mean, but hey, we survived!

Over the next few days, while the weather was clear, we knocked out all the must-see spots, including London Arch, Loch Ard Gorge, the Bay of Islands and the Twelve Apostles.  We also found a number of hidden photo spots off the beaten path and stopped for several veggie burgers along the way!
